Description: Far Cry - Single Player Canyon Walk
You are Jack Carver on a mission to
investigate a mysterious futuristic
civilization. You will need to go alone
though, for Doyle accompanies you on this
perilous new mission via uplink.
A beautiful sight seeing tour awaits in an
awe inspiring canyon. The sun is shining, but
not all is well in this seeming paradise!

* Level installation *
1) Unzip the contents of sp_AEcanyon.zip into your "Far Cry\Levels\"
folder. A folder called AEcanyon\ will be created there.
2) Start Far Cry and bring up the console with the ^ key (above TAB-key).
3) Type '\map aecanyon' without the quotes, and then hit ENTER.
4) The level will load, enjoy!
* Play Information *
Bot Support : Merc AI added (as yet very beta)
Play time : Approximate gameplay time is about 40
minutes if you rush it. It is recommended to
take your time to fully enjoy the landscape
views. Play time will then be about 1 hour.
Difficulty Settings : Choose a difficulty setting from the menu, run any
official SP map, then run AEcanyon via console
'\map aecanyon', to play at that difficulty
setting.
Tips : Use the paths to guide you.
Do NOT jump into any of the canyons.
Take your time and enjoy the view.
Explore, to trigger extra music cues.
* Construction *
Base : Based on Crytek's original Far Cry map: Pier. The
map was heavily edited to bring you a new gameplay
experience.
Editor used : Sandbox v1.1.1256
Map compiler used : Generate Lightmaps (All, 12 minutes compile time),
Generate AI Triangulation,
Generate Surface Textures,
Export to Game
Build time : June 21st to July 25th 2004
Map build system : P4 2.54GHz w/1 GB
WinXP & r300 128MB (Wheee :)
New Textures : none
New Shaders : none
New Models : none
New Scripts : New mission script.
New Music : Many music cues, based on original Far Cry theme
changes "collaged" into this map.

Map was entertaining ,what was the reason for the explo packs ?.I wanted to blow up something .looking forward to some more of your maps though .08/10 .wanted to use explo Packs.

Well I dont know if u will change this map further,but the whole story is about the three demo packs of C4,which in the end got absolutely nothing to do with the map.Anyhow,very nicely set up map,i expect to see more of your work
Very nicely detailed map. It has many graphical and sound goodies that are a blast to see and hear. But there are a few things that trouble me:
A) There is a lot of running along unguarded, boring paths while just seeing the sights.
B) The level is really easy, ans the mercs are easy to kill (I only got hit 4 times).
C) The map is really rather pointless. The objectives are bland and the mission ends without a real climax.
I realize it's only beta, so these things probably will change in the future, but those are my two cents.
great map. its a Beta. that means its not finished guys.
I like this. VERY nice scenery, not too many - but not too few - bad guys... just cool. I look forward to the next installment, if you plan on doing so.
So far as the explosive packs go, when you finish the map, the guy says 'Right, I'm going into the temple'. This suggests that there is at least one more 'level' to the map, and so there could be some use for the packs in there.

This is the most beautifull map I've seen or played graphically, you could give the Crytek team a run for their money with the look of it.
None the less, with all that beauty came a bit of disappointment that you'd used a good chunk of one of the game's maps. With your talent for terrain detail you could've likely made it all original.
I do agree it's a bit too easy, the mercs don't see, hear, or shoot very well, but I am looking forward to the final.
lol, I found the bit of the old map too: a whole base is still there on dirt, complete with mercs. ;(
The maps ok, its just not that exciteing, ya know, i love tridgens so if anyones a modder u otta put them in,I dont care how many, just over 32...  
very nice map!
the only downside would be: not many enemies to kill.
