Flameknight7 has released some new screenshots from his new map-in-production, ac_battle_arena_level_1, which is proof that the next version of his Assault Co-op Mod is still going strong! From the looks of these in-game images, this will be well worth the wait! Also on the horizon is a brand spanking nite home for the site...stay tuned for details!
The Assault Coop Mod is all about co-op! It brings you the joy of assault mode and turning it into player vs. AI action. Each map will include save points, objectives, events, and even a mini-storyline to it. You will fight to complete the mission along with your friends and along with some AI allies. The reinforcement time will stay in its usual state, its adjustable and useful for those who don't want to spawn at different times when you all die. The mod will include new weapons (and characters). Each game mode is taken from the original Assault mode and fixed up to fit these three gaming styles!
The gamemodes are:
Allied_Warfare - (bots) play AI and player vs. AI and player
Cooperative_Campaign - (coop) play through storylines and levels that use assault flags as save points. Fight against AI and encounter friendly AI buddies as well.
Fort_Ambush - (shoot) raid or defend a base with hordes of enemies. No storylines here. Based on player vs. AI action.
Changes in version 2.0:
-enabled stealth meter for players(shows up for clients but doesnt work so far...)
-dynamic music works(doesnt work for clients...)
-bots names are color-coded to easily tell which team they are on
-RL and SniperRifle were lowered to two zoom steps(sniper zoom textures were fixed)
-Rocket, AG36 grenade, and OICW grenade is 3 times as more powerful Happy
-damage rate and damage was increased for shocker and wrench
-default loadsreen fix
-in coop mode, enemies drop their weapons
-wrench can attack underwater
-updated AI scripts(AK47 and Mp5_k is dropped)
-improved zombie animations
-in shoot mode, no targeted enemies's names will show up
-players are able to drop their weapons in BOTS and COOP mode
-Game mode names show up correctly in server menus
-new AI to spawn(runto, patrolnode, and patropath)
-new bino texture
-names for spawned AI show up
-players deaths are shown on the server text
-able to randomize spawning
-changed font of text
-impulse of shotgun blast was increased 4x
-hud has been re-worked
-more concentrated zoom
-colt_commando sound bug fixed
-1.4 patch message bug fixed
-realistic reload is always on
-changemap works on SHOOT mode
-BOTS fighting style is random
-AI threat sounds have increased
-FFA bots were added
-customizable AI spawn enabled for mappers
-bot removal fixed
-spawnable follower bots
-much more options in bot menu
